Read Today so far and what "usual" means

A small mark on a pill shows whether today is ahead of or behind your child’s usual day at this hour.

What the pills show

Each pill is one question: Sleep is the total asleep, Feeds counts nursing and bottle feeds, Pees and Poops count diapers (a mixed diaper counts in both), and Bottle and Pumping show the amount.

A pill appears when you have logged some of it today. It can also appear at zero, when a usual day already has some by this hour and your child has it on most days.

What “usual” means

Usual is worked out from your own log, like this:

• Cami takes the last 14 complete days. Today is never part of it.
• It keeps only the days that have entries, so a day you didn’t log does not pull the average down.
• It needs at least 2 such days. With less history, pills show no mark.
• It averages how much those days had by this time of day, not by the end of the day. At 10 a.m., today is compared with a usual 10 a.m.

The footnote on each stat’s sheet says the same thing with your child’s numbers, for example: “Usual is Mateo’s average over the last 9 tracked days, matched to the same time of day.”

The marks

• An up arrow: more than usual by now.
• A down arrow: less than usual by now.
• An equals sign: about usual. Small differences, such as a few minutes of sleep, count as about usual.
• No mark: there is not enough history yet to call anything usual.

The mark shows a direction, not a verdict. Temperature compares the latest reading with the one before it, and Medicine has no mark at all.

See the day hour by hour

Tap a pill, for example Sleep. The sheet (Sleep today) draws today as a line that climbs through the day, and a usual day as a second line. A breakdown sits under the chart.

Pumping belongs to the family, so its usual is the family’s average, not your child’s.
